What Are The Side Effects Of Effexor?

Hello, I have suffered with depression all of my adult life. I have taken Prozac for years but recently had family problems which made it worse. No energy not sleeping. Dr started me today on Effexor but the reviews are awful I also don't know if I should take it morning or night. What can u tell me about this drug?

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. Effexor is Venlafaxine and the drug is a SNRI drug. The drug is found to be useful in moderate to severe depressive episodes so is a good and effective drug for your symptoms. The drug helps to improve activity and mood in depression. In normal doses the drug causes sedation, nausea, sleepiness, dizziness, slight rise in blood pressure etc side effects. These are easily tolerated and the drug is safe to use. In most of cases the drug is advised to be take-in in evening hours after dinner. If you have been prescribed with drug then you can go with this drug without any fear.

Thanks, I hope this helps you. Take care
