Hi & Welcome to HCM.
I appreciate your concern for the safety of Ciproflxacin.

The common side effects of Ciprofloxacin include:

Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, inflammation of the tendons with subsequent rupture, cartilage damage (joints) more commonly in children, and an allergic rash on the skin when exposed to sunlight (Photosensitivity).
Photosensitivity is seen most often when patients are exposed to sunlight.

Since you have developed an oval shaped bruise with a painful bump right over the vein on your fore arm it could be due to either photosensitivity caused by Ciprofloxacin or inflammed vein (thrombophlebitis).

You are advised to consult your treating doctor to review the treatment and to use an alternate antibiotic instead of Ciprofloxacin.

Meanwhile you may use some sunscreen to protect your skin in the fore arm and the face.

Hope to have answered your query.
