What Are The Side Effects Of Amoxicillin?

Hi, Good evening, My son who is 2 and 1/2 years old was prescribed with Amoxicillin/5ml suspension, after taking the antibiotic, his behavior changed, He cries, exibits behavior, coudn t sleep and throw things that he can find. This is very unusual, he cries so loud and we are worried, he is not the same as before. Please help. Thank you.

Hi,

I have gone through the medical history of your son and understood your concerns.

Usually, amoxicillin use is not associated with mood changes neither to sleep problems.

In your child's case, what I suspect is that during the time he was ill, you've been pampering too much without contradiction. Now, that he is improving, you are not pampering that much, thus he is reacting this way.

Try to get a sweet approach to him. If no improvement, then, should discuss it further with his pediatrician.
