What Are The Side Effects Of Amlodipine Apo And Olmetec And Aldomet?

I take Apo-Amolodipine 10mg and Olmetec 20mg and Aldomet 250mg for blood pressure. I find with the Apo and the Olmetec that my legs and feet swell. The Aldomet I have been taking for a long time and it works well
I cut the Apo and Olmetec in halves and have found that my feet etc do not swell. My doctor put me onto Sevikar 40mg-10mg but have found that I get terribly dizzy on that so have gone back to the top two.
Is it okay to cut the tabs in half they seem to be working with my blood pressure is 130/75 I am 77 years old

I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

Swelling of the feet is not a common side effect of Olmesartan (olmetec) so there is no reason to reduce it. Amlodipine on the other hand is well known to have that side effect so that is the drug which use should be addressed.

So I suggest you keep Olmetec unchanged and reduce to half the dosage of Amlodipine. If that doesn't work well enough to control your blood pressure there are other drugs of the same class which have a lower risk of swelling like lercanidipine which can be used as a substitute to Apo.

I hope to have been of help.
