Hi, Thanks for posting your query. I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you. The function of gallbladder is to store the bile before it can be used for digestion. Bile is produced in the liver. Gallbladder can be removed either by open method or laparoscopically. Removal of gallbladder does not cause any serious complication. Some people may develop diarrhea which is usually self limiting.
