What Are The Risks Of Uterine Fibroids During Pregnancy?

Hello. I am 8 weeks pregnant and i had my first scan where they found a fibroid. From what the sonographer describes I can not understant whether my pregnancy will be affected by the fibroid. I can t understand what kind it is. (Submucosal, Intramural,Subserosal). How can I know if it is in a risky position or not? The description is as follows: Arising from the fundus of the uterus, more to the right is a 6.2x6.0x5.5cm heterogenous area. Appearances suggestive of a focal fibroid.

Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.

Arising from fundus mostly means subserosal and does not affect pregnancy but i cannot be sure as it might not be so. Please tell your sonologist to give a clear report about type of fibroid.

Subserosal fibroids do not affect pregnancy
