What Are The Risks For Continuing Pregnancy After Taking Abortion Pills?

I got pregnant but my sac was said to be irregular and empty. I had minor spotting and severe stomach pain. the doctor after looking at my ultrasound decided to terminate the pregnancy because of what he tought about the pregnancy then. However I took 10 pills by mouth and 3 pills in the vagina. the sac refused to come out. we got our ultrasound done and it turned out that it was a misjudgment and the pregnancy was actually normal. however, because of the fact that I have taken the pills and all the history, Do you recommend for me to go for the pregnancy or terminate it. what are the risks if I go for it?

Hi,
From your notes it is clear that you have used misoprostol.

With the use of Misoprostol during pregnancy there is a risk that the baby will have birth defects ( limb defects, facial and skull defects, sixth and seventh nerve paralysis etc). Therefore it is not a good idea to keep the baby now. The risk for major congenital anomalies in general population is 1-3%. With the use of Misoprostol this risk is almost doubled.
I would certainly advise you to complete the abortion process.
To complete the abortion process discuss with your doctor and preferably have surgical procedure rather than repeating the tablets for abortion.
I hope I have answered to your satisfaction. If you have any further concerns do intact me through healthcare magic
