What Are The Repercussions Of Taking An Additional Dosage Of Amlodipine And Lisinopril?

My 79 year old father takes 10mg Amlodipine, 25mg HCTZ and 10mg of Lisinoprial for blood pressure every morning. He accidently took again tonight. Should we be concerned. He has a heart murmur and a leaky heart valve also. Should I take him to the ER?

Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
Both Amlodipine and lisinopril are long-acting drugs.Additional dose will lower blood pressure and may cause postural hypo tension. Since he is 79 years old let him rest in bed and check his BP periodically say every 2-3 hours. If he gets symptomatic (Nausea, weakness, dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, slurred speech),or blood pressure is very low (say systolic BP
