What Are The Red Rashes Around My 2 Year Old's Eyes?

Hi. My 2 yr old suddenly got a strange rash around his eyes, a bit on the cheeks near the eye. They aren't raised bumps, they're under the skin. They started out purple then after a dose of Benadryl, they seem to be more red. They're not very big, tiny, scattered not forming any pattern. He doesn't seem bothered much but he did wake up crying this morning & he's rubbing his eyes a lot...he said "eyes!!!" and whimpered a bit out of the blue. Then he was fine all day. Called the nurse who said don't worry yet, bring him in if it doesn't improve. Should I be worried?

Hello

Thanks for the query

The way you are describing it appears to be allergic rash.
I would suggest you to give him some antiallergic like cetrizine or hydroxyzine.Consult a dermatologist as she may need steroid in case antiallergic does not work much.

Regards
