What Are The Reasons Of Late Periods, Bloating, Headache, Cramping And Negative Pregnancy Tests?

Got implanon removed three weeks ago. Was on last day of period day 8 when it was removed. Now four days late. Very bloated stomach, headaches, backache, certain foods turning my stomach, exhausted, going to toilet very often, lower abdominal mild cramping. Pls advise. Negative pregnancy test.

OBGYN 's  Response
Hi,
It is very unlikely to conceive during the first cycle after removal of the Implanon. It is more likely to be an impending period. Yet, since some of your symptoms do point to very early pregnancy, I would suggest a repeat urine pregnancy test after a couple of days with a fresh early morning sample. If you wish to have an earlier confirmation, please get the serum beta-hCG titres done as this is more sensitive as well as specific. If you do not see a period in the next week, please consult a specialist and go for a trans-vaginal sonogram. Hope this helps.
