What Are The Reasons For Having Itchy Roof Of Mouth, Red Spots On Roof Of Mouth And Bumps In Tongue?

Hello, doctor. I am experiencing a very itchy roof of mouth and I could see pencil-like red spots on roof of my mouth. Also there are some bumps in my tongue way back they do not hurt. I also dropped around 10 pounds in the past 2 month. What may cause my symptoms?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi, itching at the roof of mouth can be because of allergy and red spots also can be because of the allergy. Viral infection can be another reason for red sots on the palate. The bumps at the back of tongue are taste buds and are a normal finding. Please use antiseptic mouth washes and triamcinolone gel for local application over the red spots. Use of B complex capsules for few days will also help. If the things do not improve, consult an ENT and if need be a gastroenterologist. Regards
