Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What are the effects ofong term endone my mother is 93 and she has changed aot and IHAVE am worried she has become angry and suspicious and thinks that I am trying to put her away which I am not and woulgd never do also everything I say she Let's me have until I am n teaars we have had a beautiful relationship until now
It appears your mother is having psychotic symptoms wherein she is suspecting you of trying to harm her. It is not likely to be due to Endone, but most probably is due to age-related changes that occur in the brain. If she has also become forgetful, then she is probably suffering from dementia. Psychotic symptoms are common in dementia. The psychotic symptoms can be easily treated with anti-psychotic medicines like olanzapine and risperidone. Please inform her doctor about the change in her behavior so that he can prescribe her an anti-psychotic medicine and also reassure her about her fears.
Best wishes.
