What Are The Findings From The Cervical Test Report?

hi i recent had my frist cervical screening test and 1 week later i got a letter say that result appeared normal this means that you are at very little risk of developing cervical cancer at this time, i dont know what does it mean but this worried me alot doctor.

Thanks for writing in.

It is important to remember that cervical smears look for changes before cancer develops. Cells are analysed to look for abnormalities in the appearance of the nucleus and other aspects of cell morphology. A normal result means that no abnormal cell was found in your cervical smear specimen. If you have any pain and discomfort in pelvis then it requires investigation and treatment of any possible infections.
