What Are The Factors Other Than Factor V For Repeated Abortion ?

I'm 32 years old , I had 2 perfect pregnancies (last one 7 years ago) but then had an abortion at 17 weeks in 2010 and another one also at 17 weeks last october. both fetuses had no visible abnormalities and blood work came clear except for Factor V leiden which came out positive( hetetozygous) and in the fourth pregnancy(second abortion ) I was on blood thinners as soon as i was diagnosed with Factor V leiden but still no luck. My hematologist said that Factor V leiden (heterozygous) alone could not cause repeated abortion. She said it needs other factors too. I'm really concerned about this issue and afraid to ttc again what can I do?

Hi,
Thank you for choosing Healthcaremagic. As you had 2 normal pregnancies, your present 2 abortions cannot be totally attributed for THROMBOPHILIAS> I feel as the abortions occured in second trimester , it could be due to CERVICAL INCOMPETENCE. Other thrombophilias can be ACLA, LAC, ANA, beta 2 glycoprotein...etc

Please ask if you have more questions. If you are satisfied, please make sure that your ACCEPT my answer so that I receive credit. Good luck!!
