Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Welcome to HCM and thanks for your query
Gabapentin is an anti epileptic and is given for two reasons. It prevents seizures which are common after brain injury
It also has a mood stabilising effect. It does make people more sleepy when given during daytime. I advise my patients to start with a bed time dose and increase as needed.
This might help your patient.
Take care
Dr Noble Zachariah
