What Are The Effects Of Fits On The Fetus During Pregnancy?

my wife recently had a severe fits but i don t know that it s her first time cause it s been only 1& half months of our marriage. the doctors believe it can be her 1st time also or she already had the problem since her childhood but they are not sure. the thing is i don t know anything about her past, now i m worried about my married life and about my baby if she gets pregnent in future, because doctors have informed me that if she get fits during her 4-6 months of pregnency my child can die inside her.

Hi, thanks for writing..
I understand your concern.. Dont worry.. It is nothing like epileptic patients wont have children.. Yes what you heard was right that if she gets fits during 4-6 months, there can be severe hypoxia to the fetus leading to baby's death.. If she has got fits before, she need to be started on antiepileptics.. After having a control over her fits that is she shouldnot have fits for 3months continuously, she can conceive and continue antiepileptic drugs which is safe in pregnancy.. If she is on medication, there is less chance of epilepsy. Hope I have answered your query.. Good day..
