What Are The Effects Of Effexor When Taken At Night?

Hi I stopped fluoxetine and paroxetine several months ago after being on it for 5 years and living with urge incontinence due to the meds. I had a crisis 6 weeks ago and they have tried me on Effexor which makes me very sleepy. So they put me onto sertraline and my urge incontinence has returned. I work I'm only 44 and find this hard to manage. The meds for urge incontinence give me thrush. So my question is why can I not take Effexor at night? And is it less likely to make me incontinent. Many thanks lauriane

Along with its needed effects, venlafaxine (the active ingredient contained in Effexor) may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur while taking venlafaxine:

More common
Changes in vision, such as blurred vision
headache
high blood pressure
