What Are The Early Signs And Symptoms Of Pregnancy?

Hi, I was due to have my implanon changed on 21/07/11, I had it changed on 25/07/11, however I had unprotected sex in between. Also, I had unprotected sex less than a week after the new implanon was inserted. I have been feeling run down lately, nausea, tiredness, feeling faint. Could I be pregnant?

Hallow Dear,

It appears from your history that you are continuously under some or other contraceptive protection. Your Implanon also was changed within 4 days. So the possibilities of pregnancy are very remote.

Implanon is an Etonogetrel product. This is a progesterone derivative. Progesterone can cause nausea, vomiting, fatigue, etc..

The first cardinal symptom of pregnancy is missing a period about which I do not find any mention in your history.

If you have missed your period, please get your overnight first morning urine sample tested for pregnancy about a week after missed period. Else, 10 days after your last intercourse you may get Beta hCG test done on your blood. Either of these will confirm the status of your pregnancy.

I hope this should help you.
