What Are The Complications Of Down Syndrome During Pregnancy?
I am in 5th month of my pregnancy. This is my first pregnancy and I am 34 years oold.I did downsyndrom screening. After scanning doctor told baby s structure is fine and scanning was normal. After double marker test I fall down in less than 10% risk. Dr told me not to worry, and suggested anamaly scan in 18th week. Will it be a problem for my baby.
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Down syndrome screening is done by serum screening( double/ triple/ quadruple marker) and by anomaly ultrasound at18-20 weeks of pregnancy. If your double marker is low risk, then the chances of Down syndrome is very rare, however anomaly ultrasound at18-20 weeks will further clarify the picture. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health. Dr Deepti Verma
