What Are The Chances That The Baby Has Down Syndrome?

I lost a baby April 10th, I stopped bleeding April 15th, I am now 14 weeks pregnant again. The doctor called me and told me that the ultrasound showed that my babies neck is a little on the thick side, but they do not have my blood work yet. What are the chances that my baby has Down Syndrome

The thickness of the fold in the baby's neck, called a nucchal translucency, is one of the markers we use to figure out the risk of down's syndrome. It is hard to calculate after 13 weeks gestation, however and it must be combined with a blood test and your age to accurately predict the risk of Down's syndrome. Your doctor will be able to give you a percentage once you get your blood test results. I hope this was helpful, try to be patient, and as soon as your blood comes back your doctor should be able to answer your question.
