What Are The Chances Of Restenosis In Case Of Aortic Valvuloplasty?

I am doing a paper on percutaneous balloon aortic valvuloplasty. Can you tell me about it? What is the percentage of restenosis? My brother had to have an artifical valve put in at the age of 27. He had open heart surgery at age 3 for a heart murmur. Now that I am researching this I don t think that a heart murmur is what you have open heart surgery for but rather whatever is causing the heart murmur to begin with. He doesn t seem to know what the problem was at age 3. Do you think that perhaps he had a congenital heart defect that produced the heart murmur and later had to have his aortic vavle replaced?

You included multiple questions:
1)percutaneous balloon aortic valvuloplasty:Means that you put a baloon through the valve and dilate it to open the valve that is stenosed(narrowed) and not allowing blood to flow through it.Based on the type of valve and severity the re stenosis rate is different.
2)Any heart suregry at 3 means they had a congenital hear tdisease.
3)He probably had a congenital heart valve problem that became worse enough at age 27 that required surgery
4)Surgery is not done for the murmur itself but for the reason behind the murmur.
