Anti-epileptics could be a lifelong treatment at times. However when the patient is seizure free for at least 2 years than it can be attempted to stop the drug. That is never done abruptly, dose is lowered gradually over several months. There is a chance that seizures may return, you can't know for sure. An EEG before attempting the interruption would help to make a prediction, if no epileptiform changes then her chances are better, but still it's no guarantee.
