What Are The Chances Of Getting Pregnant With Endometrial Hyperplasia?
Hi Doctor. I am a 30 year old woman. I want to start a family and went for a uterine checkup today. I was found to be having 16mm endometrial hyperplasia though i was told my ovaries are okay. This has worried me a lot since i want children. What are my chances of having a family?
Endometrial thickness more than 14 mm is not conducive for implantation of fertilized ovum. Moreover, such a thick endometrium is indicative of failure of egg release.
Please get the endometrium studied first to find out whether there is any evidence of egg release, as evident by secretory changes in the endometrium. If you are not ovulating, you will have to get treatment for induction of ovulation. Blood examination of FSH, LH, Oestrogen, Progesterone, Prolactin and AMH would help clinching the diagnosis.
The chances of successful pregnancy with endometrium as thick as 16 mm are rather low; however, can definitely be managed by correction in hormonal levels and induction of ovulation if needed.

Endometrial hyperplasia may be associated with fibroids in the uterus. Please try to find any evidence of fibroids by ultrasonography.
