What Are The Chances Of Getting Infection Through A Cold Sore?

I made out with a guy but didn t realize he had a scab on his lip till afterwards. I asked him it was a cold sore scab, but he said he had fallen a few days earlier. My question is, if it the cut was scabbed over, do I run any risk of contracting and infection, Hiv, Hep C. etc. Thank you.

Hi and welcome to HCM. Thanks for the query.
Possibility of tramsmision HIV and hepatitis is negligible unless you had open wound too and it was in contact with his. So you dont have to be worried. other respiratory viruses and certain bacterial infection could be transmissed but these serious microbes arent transmisable on this way.
Wish you good health. Regards
