What Are The Chances Of Getting Fever Post Flu Vaccine In A Kid?
my 4 year old recieved the flu vaccine 2 days ago. She developed a cough and weezing last night. Today she has had a fever (highest was 100.5) She tells me her forehead feels hot and back feels hot I gave her 2 albuterol sulfate breathing treatments and a dose of childrens motrin today. She has been acting pretty normal (active, playing, cognitive, etc..) Should I be worried or seek medical help at this point? It hurts me to see her sick...
It hurts any good parent to see their child unwell so this is understandable.
If she is currently active, playful and eating well, then you may not need to take her to be assessed.
If you notice that she starts to withdraw (inactive, not eating well) or has an asthma attack not responding to your treatment or prolonged fever (more than 2 to 3 days), then she should be seen.
I hope this helps
