What Are The Best Treatment For Ring Worms On Scalp?

My kid has stubborn ringworm on the scalp for 3 months and its becoming itchy, i have tried an ointment called daktar and one more ointment as well as oral medicaton ( 1 month cure) but no succes. What is the best treatment for ringworms on sclp, home remedies or other?

Hi. Thanks for posting you concern at HCM

Ringworm of the scalp OR Tinea capitis needs to be first confirmed by a dermatologist who would send a hair sample for fungal culture.

If fungal culture come out to be +ve then treatment of Tinea capitis with either oral groseofulvin for 6-8 weeks OR oral Terbinafine for 4 weeks should be curative

Along with that it is also advisable to use an antifungal shampoo e.g 2% Ketoconazole to prevent the community spread of tinea.

I would advice a lab test for fungal culture from hair to confirm the diagnosis of tinea before any therapy.
