What Are The Alternatives For Insulin?

I could not take insulin so I am working on my own,I took insulin 35 years ago and all it did for me was swell me up like a toad frog I changed doctors he told me never to take another one of those pills I had already stpped and now my numbers is 110 am & 100 morning up a few points are down afew points.thank you.
