Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I currently take 70 mg of vyvanse per day, and I m having numbness starting in both feet that travels just above my knees. It s also in both hands. It s affected my gait, and feels like I m walking on pins & needles. My Dr has ran so many blood tests all which come back negative heart, thyroid, ect. My bp is normal 116/78. All my blood panels came back normal too. Due to my research I ve noticed vyvanse can have this side effect on women. I m 46 yr old female. I appreciate any input you can offer. Thank you!
There isn't a lot of difference between vyvanse and amphetamine. Amphetamine makes people nervous and they hyperventilate. This is fixable within a couple days of stopping the cause of hyperventilation. ALso, one could check for similar causes of hyperventilation/electrolyte abnormalities (thyroid disease, electrolytes like calcium and magnesium), etc.
