What Are Side Effects Of Long Term Use Of Escitalent Plus?

My mom had her 1st mental sickness 4yr before..that time we have smply provided sleeping pills to her. Then after 2yr she had again faced this problem due to some tension and this time she recoverd from her mental illness automatically.so we didnt care about it bcoz she is completely recoverd from that. N now she z again facing this problem due to some reason( may b tension) .n the doctor has recommended her for escitalent plus( escitalopram -10mg n clonazepam- 0.5mg). Is it ok to give my mom these tablets with 10mg dose.?? In some of the reviews it z stated that the patients are facing short term memory problems.. then is it ok to give her this medicine? N till how long minimum she has to continue wid these medicines to complete recover from all kind of depressions??.. Please answers these soon

i had gone through your query.

Escitalopram is one of the safest anti depressant and 10 mg is ideal dose.

it has no issue with memory.It has very minimal long term side effect.

Clonazepam is sedative and anti anxiety drug and can be given with antidepressant in intial tharapy to counter anxiety.

If she is better than it can be reduced to 0.25 mg.
Clonazepam has long term side effect like cognitive disturbances and addictive potential.But 0.5 mg is also safe dose.

usually 1st episode of depression require 9 month to 1 year of treatment. It is depend upon severity and duration of depressive episodes.

Please follow your treating doctors advise to achieve better and fast recovery.
