What Are Side Effects Of Symbicort (if Any)?

I have been taking symbicort for the past week and a half. Since then, I have been very tired and listless. A two hour nap is not uncommon. I have also been a bit depressed. I stopped taking it yesterday, and feel a bit better. It's unfortunate, it was helping. My question is, why would Symbicort cause those side effects?

Hello,
As you have written that you are taking Symbicort which is combination formulation containing Budesonide and formoterol. Budesonide is an inhaled corticosteroid act as anti inflammatory action. Naturally corticosteroid is a steroid hormone released by Adrenal cortex which plays a wide range of physiological process including stress response, immune response, regulation of inflammation, carbohydrate metabolism, protein catabolism etc. A synthetic analogue may cause various side effects like- Apathy, Insomnia, cough, hoarseness, headache, trembling, anxiety, depression, hypertension, muscle weakness, infection etc. But you should not stop the prescribed medication without doctor's guidance as it may worse your condition for which you have taken the drug. So go and consult your treating physician.
