What Are Risks Of Working Where Oil Based Paint Is Used To Paint Doors And Hallways?
I am a 41 year old female, who took chest pains a week ago. I was monitored overnight, my blood pressure lowered and the blood work came back that I had not had a heart attack. There is a history of high blood pressure and heart disease in my family. I am currently working in a school where oil based paint is being used to paint doors and hallways. What risks do my working conditions pose for my health. I am 5'5", weigh 158 lbs and have a history in the last 2 years of high blood pressure.
Hello....Oil-based paint contains organic solvents that can be irritating to eyes and skin, and can cause cracking of skin. Inhaling paint fumes can result in headaches, nausea, dizziness, and make you very tired (fatigued) ....but these r short term effects and will fade away once u come in fresh air...but long term exposure can affect ur kidneys, liver, blood and very high levels of exposure can cause permanent brain damage n in some rare cases death....
