Hello, and I hope I can answer your question.

The most reliable sign of pregnancy is a missed period. Signs of breast tenderness, moodiness and nausea often do not start until well into the first trimester. Spotting can be cause by many factors and it depends on when your most recent period was to determine if pregnancy is possible. If the spotting you describe is less than a month from your last period, wait until the time your period is due, and if it is late, do a pregnancy test. If your period is overdue or you have spotting instead of a normal period, that could be possibly a pregnancy, but the only way to know for sure is to do a pregnancy test. So I know it is hard to be patient, but the only way to know for sure that you are pregnant is with a test, which should be positive by the time you are overdue for a period.

I hope this answers your question, and best of luck getting pregnant!

Sincerely, Dr. Brown
