Hello, This is Dr. Klarida Papaqako answering your question. Azythromicin is an antibiotic which is given, in case of bacterial infection of lower respiratory tract and some other conditions. If you have this infection you can have signs of common cold plus fever more then 3-5 days, not getting better, not good general condition, possibly shortness of breath and chest pain. If I was your caring doctor, I would check you for all this signs and give the treatment only in this case. If not, I will explain that its not needed, because it has no value in viral infections.
