Weakness In Limbs, Sore Throat, Nasal Congestion, Red Mucus From Nose. Medication For Treatment?
Past two days, I have had what appeared to be a cold . Symptons: weakness in limbs , sore throat , nasal congestion . The past two nights I blew my nose hard to help clear up and a jelly like glob came out of my nose the coloration was red and a slight orange. What exactly is coming out of my nose and what kind of over the counter meds are available? Thank you
HI I have gone through your mail and as you said that you are having common cold in the form of nasal congestion, sore throat and weakness in limb. You are worried about blood mixed thick mucus came out from nose on blowing your nose during nose cleaning. After considering your all symptoms I am suspecting that you are having acute upper respiratory tract infection because in this disease nasal and throat mucosa (Inner lining of both structures) becomes congested therefore little blood in nasal discharge and sputum may be found.weakness in limbs may be due to malaise or mild fever which may in acute infection. You are advice to go for these basic investigations to rule out staph infection and associated sinus and chest infections. The investigations are-(1) Culture and sensitivity of throat swab,(2) X-Ray chest -P.A.View (3) X-Ray paranasal sinuses (4) blood -C.B.C.,E.S.R.,blood sugar (5) Urine-R & M. after this you should contact your E.N.T. doctor for clinical examination and co-relation of investigations report to make final diagnosis and than plan for treatment.Thanks.
