Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic
Different medications have different strengths and dosing
. Some medications start at single digit dosing whereas in another medication the lowest dose is 100mg. It does not mean that the medication is stronger just that the medication has been formulated differently.
For example one blood pressure medication
has the lower dose of 2.5mg , another a lower dose of 80 mg and another the lower dose is 160mg but each of these doses may cause the same reduction in blood pressure.
The 40 mg tablet that you were given is not necessary stronger than the medication that you were using before.
You may want to discuss any concerns that you have with your doctor.
I hope this helps
