Was Choked In The Throat With An Arm. Now It Is Hurting To Swallow, Throw Up While Eating. Esophagus Bruised Internally?

This past weekend, my ten yr. old son & i were wrestling around and he came behind my neck and put his arm around my throat like he was gonna "choke me out" like on TV, ever since then it hurts to swallow and even have had to like throw up because I feel like when i eat my food isnt going down the right tube. Can my esophagus be brusied internally and if so should i go to the ER?

Hi,
There may be some internal bruising that is likely to resolve spontaneously over the next few days. If you are having trouble swallowing solids then try only liquids and soft food until it settles. It is unlikely that a 10 year old play-fighting will have done any serious damage.
