Was Bitten By Skunk. Getting Rabies Treatment Hrig In Hip. Should I Be Worried About Effectiveness Of Hrig?
I was bitten (slightly) by a skunk who was being attacked by my dog. I am getting the rabies treatment, received HRIG in hip area above the buttocks as well as the vaccine in the other hip/buttocks area. I see where I should have had several shots around the bite area, which was the ankle, but that is not what the ER did. Now I see they should all have gone to the deltoid, all future doses will be given that way by my pharmacist, but do I need to worry about the effectiveness of the HRIG and first dose of the vaccine? I don't have much fat in that area.

Normally HRIG is given over the buttack or deltoid area.If the amount of drug is more it may be given in two different areas.
Rabies vaccine usually given in the deltoid region.
It is normal and nothing to worry about it.
