Want To Lose Weight. What Are The Foods And Methods That Can Help Reduce Weight ?

Hi dr. I am 37yr old female who wieghs 180pds, And I would like to lose wieght. I don t like any salads or vegetables. I do like potatoes, corn on the cob, and beans though. As for fruit I kinda like the green apples, green grapes, oranges, and strawberries but that s all. I work 8 1/2hrs on my feet 5 days a wk, plus I have 2kids. So its not like I m lazy or anything. For the most part of my life I wieghed 120. But after my now 11yr old was born I have been having a hard time losing my wieght. I can t afford to go to a gym or buy any exercise equipment. I just don t know what I can do to try an lose wieght especially if I don t like all the proper foods. Please let me know what advice you can give. Thank you.

Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

Weight loss is difficult and can be more effectively done through modification of diet than exercise because alot of exercise is required to achieve the calorie deficit necessary to lose weight. Calorie deficit it the difference between the calories your body puts in through eating and drinking and the calories it puts out in activity.
Exercise is important in heart and general fitness and keeping weight off once it has been lost.

Since most vegetables and salads are low in calories and full of fibre, it normally recommended that, to lose weight persons eat increased amounts. If you do not like them , it may simply be a matter of how they are prepared or the type of vegetables/salads used. If you can find a type of vegetable or preparation method or a salad that you would eat , then it would make it alot easier to lose weight.

Potatoes are high in carbohydrates and would actually not assist in weight loss.
The green grapes and strawberries should be ok, you can even consider adding to your salad.

I hope this helps
