Want To Get Pregnant, Taking Diane 35 To Cure Acne. Will Stopping It Cause Problems?
Hi, I started taking the contraceptive pill Diane 35 when I was 15 years old to treat normal teenage acne. My face has been clear since then. I am now 27 years old and am thinking of getting of it to have children, but I have read horrible stories of people getting severe cystic acne when they stop taking it! I'm really worried I will get bad acne. One of my friend stopped the pill and 6 months after she got a horrible outburst and is not able to get rid of it! Please help! Some people say that as soon as you stop Diane 35 you get acne for sure:( Thank you!
Acne outbreaks do not occur as commonly in adults and you are less likely to suffer an outbreak at this time.
Acne occurs as a result of the following processes : (1) increase production of some of the cells of the skin resulting in blocking of the hair follicles (2) excess sebum production- sebum is a waxy oily substance (3) the presence of a particular bacteria and (4) inflammation
To reduce the chances of recurrent acne you can use washes and creams that can treat these areas. For example benzoyl peroxide would reduce any inflammation in the skin and also treats the bacteria. It can be used once or twice a day. It can be combined with a topical antibiotic.
I hope this helps
