Vomiting, unconsciousness after a fall and head injury. Worry?

My little brother, aged 4, has fallen over and whacked his head badly. He vomited and then fell unconscious for a short period of time. He has woken up and is now completely delirious and violently vomiting . He is now on his way to the hospital but I haven t been updated by family members about what is happening. Is this serious?

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

After a head injury if a child has the following problems then he should be taken to the emergency at the earliest possible.

They are
1. Vomiting
2. Loss of consciousness
3. Seizures
4. Ear and nose bleed.

He may require further investigations including a CT scan etc

Hope this helps.
Take care.
