Hello, thank you for posting your question on Healthcare Magic!
It sounds like you are very concerned about your child's growth. From your description it sounds like she feels well and is doing well in school. The best way to determine if your child is growing properly is to compare her development to a growth chart
. If you have been taking her to the same pediatrician
for many years, this doctor will be able to help you.
The growth chart compares your child's growth to the average growth of all children. Some children are naturally larger or smaller than others (just as some adults are). The important thing is the consistency of her growth. So if she her weight has always been in the 40th percentile for children her age, and then over the course of a year she drops to the 5th percentile, this likely signals and important change in her growth that should be investigated. But if she has consistently been in the 5th percentile her entire life, there is nothing to worry about. This would simply mean she is going to be a small adult, it does not mean she will be unhealthy.
Wishing you the best of health,
