Vein On Left Neck. Is This Something To Be Concerned?

I noticed a vein on the left side of my neck bulging about 1 1/2 ago. I only notice the vein when I'm talking or yelling. This never happened before. I was 38 when I first noticed it, and I just turned 40 a few days ago. Is this something I should be concerned about? Seems weird to have a vein stick out simply when talking or yelling. Does this indicate a heart problem?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
A prominent vein on the neck is not worrisome if there is no pain in it. This is just a normal physiological variation. It is commonly seen in thin built individuals and is not worrisome.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
