Varying Blood Pressure. What All Should Be Checked While Meeting Doctor?
Hello. My blood pressure has been averaging 119/82 the last three weeks. It has been better in the past. Today it shot up to 150/100 at work. When I got home, it has been around 125/90. I have an appointment this week to see a Dr. to get a check up. Should there be anything I ask to draw or check while I am there? Thank you
I am so sorry to hear about this varying blood pressure. The variation seems to be explained by the different challenges and stress you go through in a day. It is perfectly normal for the blood pressure to increase to such values when stressed or very busy at work. For me to consider this abnormal, it has to be sustained and or associated with other symptoms that suggest another possible cause.
I will suggest that you keep a log book of your blood pressure measurements and report to your doctor on the day of consultation. Sure it would be more informative and guiding than just these 3values to make sound decisions.
I hope you find this helpful. Thank you for using our services and please feel free to request for more information if need be. I wish you well good health. Dr. Ditah, MD.
