Urge To Pass Stools, Painful Stomach Cramps After Eating, On Medicines For UTI. What Could This Be?

yesterday, after eating I felt uncomfortable and approximately one hour later I had painful stomach cramps , sudden urge to have a bowel movement , I began to sweat and felt faint. I had to take several trips to the bathroom prior to feeling any relief. The bowel movements swift, but I felt a slight burning pain afterward. My stomach is very sore and this morning, I had a small bit of stomach pain and then had another bowel movement. I am taking phentermine , flouxitine and was recently prescribed Cipro for UTI .

Hi.

Noted that you are already taking Ciprofloxacin for UTI, Phentermine and Fluoxetine.
Sudden onset of pain in abdomen, frequency of loose stools and burning sensation after passing stool is usually indicative of entero-colitis. It is difficult to say so as you are already taking Ciprofloxacin which is supposed to be good for gastrointestinal infection too.
Hence there is a possibility of Cipro-resistant intestinal infection or amoebic colitis which needs another medicine.
Hence I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Consult your Doctor and get the clinical evaluation done.
Send samples of Stool, urine and blood.
Add on Probiotics and antispasmodic.
Metronidazole may help.
If your Doctor feels so he may add another antibiotic as per the report.
Viral gut infection can also give similar symptoms.
Take plenty of oral fluids, electrolyte solution to avoid dehydration.
