Unable To Lose Weight, Lost Weight Previously. Tried Cardio, Pilates, Low Calorie Diet. How To Lose Weight?

Hey I am having trouble losing the last ten pounds . I am 5 2 and at 120, but i d love to get down to 110. (I was 145 last June, so I know that I can lose weight, but for some reason, I haven t lost a pound in quite some time). I do various cardio an hour a day for 6 days a week along with about 45 minutes of pilates every day, but I am stuck at 120! I also eat about... 1100 calories a day (sometimes more, sometimes less, but that s the average) I eat just about all organic, no red meats, and I would say 70% veggies and fruit. What is wrong with me?!

Hi,
Welcome to HCM
You are 5 feet and 2 inches, and really you was overweight at 145 lb,now when you are in normal range, that is 106 to 130lb,please continue to have patince, please take care of nutrition with proteins, complex carbohydrates and vitamin and micronutrients.
You should understand once you lose weight your body adapts to metabolic needs and sometime there are times when you do not lose weight but it is more important to be fit and healthy instead of any weight number.
Please do not do crash dieting as if you are hungree it will be difficult in long run.,as there are more chances of regaining weight.
Please take care
Good Luck

Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

BMI stands for body mass index and determines if a person's weight is ok for their height. It is calculated by dividing the weight in kilograms by the height in m (the height is squared) .A BMI of less 18 indicates a person is underweight and over 25 is overweight.
Based on your height of 5 ft 2 and weight of 120, your BMI is 21.9 kg/m2 which means that your weight is good for your height. At a weight of 110, your BMI would be 20.5 which is inching towards underweight.

You have loss alot of weight (25 pnds) which is excellent because weight loss is difficult to acheive. After a person loses weight, they go into the plateau stage where their body resists further weight loss. This is due to a number of compensatory mechanisms that take place in the body to resist further loss. These measures work to reduce energy loss and increase energy input.
As far as your body is concerned , at present it does not wish to lose any more weight.
Your weight is good for your height and the activity that you are engaged in will prevent weight regain which is important.

I hope this helps
