Hormonal activity , Genetic component , Stress ,Infectious bacterias and High Glycemic load diet are the main cause of acne.
In Ayurveda ..
1. ALOE VERA has been used for a pretty long time now for curing various skin conditions. It can be taken internally as well as applied topically on the affected area.
2.Apply KUMGUMADI LEPAM twice daily.
3.TURMERIC POWDER and NEEM LEAVES mixture with CURD and apply on your face. Leave it for about 30 minutes.
4.SANDALWOOD PASTE when mixed with ROSE WATER and applied on the infected area regularly in known to make the face blemish free.

Thanks for the query

Retinoids are the drug of choice today for acne, comedones as well as acne scars.

you can apply 1 % adapelene gel once daily in night, a sunscreen must be applied in day.
usually there are not much side effects except slight burning.

It usually takes around a month for lesions to disappear with regular treatment.

However for best results apply the creams for at least 2 months even if there are no lesions.

Acne is blockade of sebaceous duct, do the following to keep them open.

1. Wash face at least three times a day. Instead of soap use a pH balanced syndet.

2. Drink lot of water and reduce oily food intake.

3. Take lot of green leafy vegetables, they add fiber which in turn reduce oil absorption from intestine.

4. Don’t apply too many cosmetics and don’t change them, use a single brand whichever suit you.

Thank you

hi, .....
I can understand your concern
acne starts as a result of hormonal changes during puberty and can continue till homones are produced . The androgens produced stimulate the oil glands to produce oil which clogs the pores and result in acne.
It can be mild (black and white heads), raised pus filled lesions or severe in the form of cystic nodules.
There is no permanent cure of acne, but we can treat or supress the lesions . they occur on and off and may lead to scarring

Various options are available that can be used alone or in combination under expert guidance
Get your black heads and white heads extracted regularly
Use a salysilic face wash
Get few sessions of salicylic or glycolic peels.
Local application of clindamycin adapalene combination
oral azithmycin in weekly pulses
Oral isotretinoin if severe
Maintainance treatment should be continued once the active lesions come down.

Hope this helps you
