hi
thanks for using healthcare magic

if u have IBS for last 6 years, that mean u have Chronic illness. In that case try FODMAP diet which include Fermentable, Oligo-, Di-, Mono-saccharides And Polyols. A low FODMAP diet has been shown to reduce symptoms. Beside this use of antispasmodic drugs, tricyclic antidepressants can be tried.

Thanks

Hello,
I have to gone through your query and understand your concern.
First you have to understand one thing that " There is no cure for Inflammatory bowel disease".
At present, current treatments aims to relieve symptoms and prevent them from returning.
Treatment includes both medication as well as self care.
Self care includes
1. Diet managment- You have to take the small frequent diet.
You have to take low-residue diet, a very restricted diet that reduces the amount of fiber and other undigested material that pass through your colon.
2. Management of stress-
List out the stress which aggravates your symptoms.
Try to avoid that triggers from your daily routine life.
Plan your activities and do correctly.
Have a short breaks in between work.
Engage in activities like playing games, reading books etc.
3. Exercise regularly- this will greatly reduce your stress
4. Try relaxation techniques like meditation and yoga.

Next only comes medication.
Medical treatment mainly to decrease the inflammatory response and control the flare ups.
There are plenty of medications available for treating inflammatory bowel disease.
Initially aminosalicylates, which are aspirin-like anti-inflammatory drugs such as sulfasalazine would be tried. At the time of flare ups you may need corticosteroids to reduce inflammation shortly.
At times you may need anti diarrheal agents, antispasmodics, and acid suppressants for symptom relief.

Hope this helps.
Please write back for further queries.
Wishing you good health.
