Unable To Close Jaw, Painful, Taken Advil. Which Doctor?

When I woke up this morning, about 4 hours ago, I was unable to close my jaw all they way to chew. It causes extreme pain in the right side joint . I have no idea what may have caused this. I took some advil around 7AM but it hasn t really helped. Should I call my dentist , doctor, a specialist? It s very hard to chew food.

Hi,
From history it seems that you might be having impacted wisdom tooth or lax tm joint muscles giving rise this problem.
While yawning during sleep there might be sab-laxation of TM joint producing opening mouth and unable to close.
This happens in impacted molar tooth as well.
Consult oral surgeon and get examined.
Ok and take care.
