Ultrasound Shows Retroverted Homogeneous Uterus, Endometrium. Free Fluid In Douglas. Affect Pregnancy?
hi, I just had an ultrasound and i need to know what does it mean by a retroverted homogeneous uterus measuring 8.1x5.6x4.4cm and my endometrium is homogeneous and measures 0.7cm. also a small amount od free fluid is noted in the pouch of douglas. can all of this affect my chance of getting pregnant as i have been trying for 5 months now and nothing.

Chances of conception are slightly less with a retroverted uterus owing to the unfavorable position for sperms to ascend during an intercourse; this can be corrected by lying in the prone (face down) position for at least 30 minutes after intercourse and not using any strong soaps to clean the parts. Free fluid in the Pouch of Douglas can be seen after ovulation. Your sonogram findings are normal. Please go ahead. Hope you find this information useful. Good luck.

Your uterus is retroverted,means it's tilted backwards. Mostly it's tilted forwards that is anteverted.
Retroverted uterus,if tilted acutely, is likely to cause difficulty in fertillisation. If you are keen for conception, you should visit a Gynecologist & get assessed for the degree of retrovertion.
Manual repositioning,exercises,or surgery are the treating options
