Ultrasound Shows No Fetal Pole During Early Pregnancy. Is It Normal To Have Stomach Cramps, Frequent Urination And Nausea?

Hi Dr, am 6w3d pregnant and I had my last u/s at 5w4d, the gestational sac was seen with good decidual reaction but no foetal pole seen yet. I feel slight cramping in my tummy and I have to visit the toilet after almost every meal, and my excreta is dull coloured, looks like dark green or even black. It gets really tiring, have a lot of nausea and I feel constipated sometimes, easily tired and irritated with these head ache that never goes. Are these signs all normal, especially the ultrasound? Thanks

frequent urination and nausea are extremely common in early pregnancy, and they shouldn't be particular cause for concern. At five weeks. occasionally they may nit yet be able to see a heartbeat, so it could be normal as well. Mild cramping could be normal too, but if the cramping is severe, and if the discharge becomes bloody, you should call your doctor. I know that it is worrisome until you have confirmation of a viable pregnancy by ultrasound with a heartbeat, and it can be very stressful waiting until you see that. I hope you can return to your doctor for another ultrasound, because by this time a heart beat should be easy to find. I wish you the best of luck with your pregnancy.
